1. Hi Rotem & Eli, nice to hear from you some words about who is behind TOXICAL!
Rotem: My name is Rotem Doron born and raised in Beer Sheva (South of Israel).
Eli: I am Eli Abutbul, also born in Beer Sheva.
2. When did you meet and decide to join forces?
We met in 1999 at high school. We loved trance and by that time we already knew that trance was our main stream music..
And we loved playing around with all kind of music softwares; so some day we joind forces and are working togheter until now...
3. Why did you choose the TOXICAL as your project name? Sounds pretty dangerous and darkish... and is contrary to your melodic synths in your tracks..
Well no one sayd melodic trance is not dangerous on the dancfloor -you know hehe.. We just loved the name - it's catchy and one word that says a lot so we went for it..
Dangours is in the ear of the listener - you know, with taste and smell no one can argue..
4. TOXICAL tunes - how would you describe your musice? What makes it unique? What's typical for it?
Well over all it's definitively morning psytrance - some might say its full on, some might say it's a bit differnet from that.. we think it's electro mixed with melodic morning psytrance elements :)
5. Any artists, friends, situations or special happenings in your lives so far that have had real effect on TOXICAL?
There are a lot of artists who have influenced us but it would last too long to write all the names here. When it comes to an emotional melody or track we are trying to show feelings from life. Of course no one can really understand these feelings (apart from us) because the melodies can't actually explain - you just have to try to feel it.
We can say that many names of our tracks are the results from personal experiences in our lives.
6. You have already had many releases on several labels all over the globe. Which of those releases you will never forget (because you assume something special with it for example)...?
We released tracks on Tactic Records, Shivlink Records, Divincblance Records, Sin Tec Records, Sundance Records,
Virus Tekk Records, Magma Records, Kagdila Records, Spliff Music...
We can say that all these releases are special for us - they are like our babys, but we can definitively say that our album release on Tactic Records was the most existing because it's our "home" label now and we will stay there - so everything this label does for us is special - that's where our heart is in!
7. Your debut album Painting The Future (Tactic Records) - is a blaster. How long did it take you to produce it?
The entire album took us about one and a half year to get the tracks ready and after that we had to do the finishes. This were two more months so all in all it took a year and 8 months or even maybe a bit more.
8. Do you have any side/solo projects apart from TOXICAL?
We always make other music than trance, we love to make freestyle music in what ever styles we like. But we are working on an electro project right now which is still very fresh - we do not have a name yet but hopefully this will be changed asap and than we will have more information about this project.
9. What are your plans for the future?
Keep the beats flowing, that's for sure! And we will always and forever live in the music! We are here to stay! That's our life..
10. Some words about the actual development in the international psytrance-scene... As we see it, the scene is getting bigger and bigger so its defently a good thing. Some people will think its not good for the spirit but - from our point of view as artists - it is only positive for everybody!
